:::24 February 2007 - Basics of Henna Arts @ The Studio

On the 24th I had my first real workshop. This was a beginner's workshop, designed to acquaint the user with henna, henna's history, how to mix henna, how to apply henna, and the understanding that anyone can do it--not just great artists. I think it was a success; I had more students than expected, plenty took to henna like ducks and the time flew by. Everyone left with their own henna to play with for the weekend and I actually owe people books as I ran out. I learned a few things (like buying 5 rolls of mylar fifteen minutes before the workshop began, and how I should perhaps watch my language around kids. She didn't notice b-tch, but cr-ap didn't pass her by!) and know what to do to adjust for the next one.
